Hunting Trip

Good Morning.
We awoke to a little snow and fog. Now the wind is up a little so the fog is gone. Sharon is cooking a ham bone this morning. Soup anyone? We have found a great place to get ham bones. Have you tried buying ham bones from "Honey Baked"? There is usually enough ham for a couple of sandwiches and still have a great soup bone.
I went pheasant hunting with Bob Clark a couple of weeks ago. He is a member of a private club that makes hunting a little more reliable. The dogs in the picture are his. They are "Penny", the lab and Riley. I can't remember his breed. He is a wild 1 year old and is just learning how to hunt.
Have to stop now and start working on our income tax. Fun?

Our Denver Trip
We had a wonderful time in Denver over the weekend. Our visit with Jan and Curt was great, as always. What wonderful visits and FOOD!
On Saturday morning, we visited "The Wings Over the Rockies" air museum. If you haven't done this, I strongly recommend it. We were with my brother Larry and his wife Kathy. Larry showed me some of the fighters he flew during his navy days.
Saturday night was the party. There were lots of people and very good food (and drink). John, a bass guitar, clarinet and drums furnished the music. Lots of singers and sing along songs. For some reason, I forgot to get any pictures. Darn!
Sunday was very special. We visited my niece Lisa and her husband Richard and their daughters, Elizabeth and Danielle. Their little dog, Holly, was expecting and almost due. It turned out that the pups arrived that evening. We went back Monday for some pictures. Here they are. I have never seen a white Schnauzer before, have you? Six puppies. What a load for such a small mommie.
I am fighting with my blog! I wanted to title each picture, but don't yet know how. Sorry. You will see (r to l) Danielle, Lisa and Elizabeth. The dog on the back of the couch is "Dad" Axelrod. "Mom" is Holly and the pups are yet unnamed.

Off to Denver
Sharon and I are getting ready for a trip to Denver to attend a St. Patrick's Day party. This party has been an annual event for about 30 years. A great time will be had by all. Lots of good food, drink and music. Here are a couple of pictures of past parties. The piano player is our host, John. He has more fun that anyone. Just loves to play for a sing along. We will just call the gals the "Wild Ones".

Greetings to All. It looks like I have a very basic understanding of how blogs work -- so here goes!
We had a brief snow storm last night with lots of wind and some lightning. Love that combination. Today, the sun is out and the snow is almost all gone. Spring can't be far away. Sure could use some moisture, but rain would be better. I have never had to shovel rain.
Tonight Sharon and I will be attending choir practice for the upcoming Valley Symphony Chorus concert. Since retirement, music has become my main hobby. I have been taking vocal lessons (always wanted to do this) and have been singing anywhere they will let me. I guess that is the "ham" in me just now coming out. Last summer I did a performance at the Chapel of The Cross in Cedaredge. It is a small community facility that hosts many local performers during the summer. I presented songs from the late 1800's and early 1900's. Included were "Barney Google", "In My Merry Oldsmobile" and others from the same period. Guess it was pretty well accepted since they have invited me back to do another performance. This summer it will be "Love Songs of Yesteryear". I would welcome your input about your favorite love songs of the 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's and even later.
More later. Cedaredge Bob
